As international association, IAAS keep good role to achieve youth generation to open their mindset. IAAS develop softskill of it members, build mutual understanding, share global knowledge, forcing the members to think globally, but also act locally. Thus, as an officer of this international organization, we need to know how to keep ‘producing’ good members and how to maintain them all. We know regeneration is one important thing to keep this good culture of youth organization. Then we need more update system to keep human resources circumstances run well. Now, I will emphasis more to relationship side between organization and it members.
Member Relationship Management is the establishment, development, maintenance and optimization of long-term mutually valuable relationships between Members and organizations.
First of all, we need to know about the members personally, or in other term you need good database management. Good database will make you easier for many occasions. You can use so much software to do your job, such as Microsoft Access, FoxPro, or you can use PHP and MySql if you want to make it Web Base. But not only members, potential members (candidate) and also alumni should be included as relationship target.
MRM is about how you deploy/using information technologies and then try collaborating with your management and communication skill. So, your skill as user of information technologies should improved. You can also try to implementing multiple channel communication for MRM, such as:
- Directly, directly communicate with your members. E.g.: held meeting, conference.
- Telephone/ Cell Phone/ SMS.
- Internet. You can use internet technologies to communicate many information of about organization. You can use web, forum, email or others.
After all, we need to discuss deeply about make the system run well. I hope this introduction can brighten our mind to start thinking about how we build and maintain good communication. Because MRM can provide good benefit both for member and organization.
